Useful level of water in the Cantareira System resets today

In a historic drought, Cantareira System, one of the largest producers of water systems in the world, that treats 33,000 liters of water per second and is responsible for supplying water to almost 10 million residents of Sao Paulo would have its useful volume of water reset today, July 11 if your dead volume was not used.

The so-called dead volume Cantareira System began to be used since 16th of May, more than 182 billion liters of water this deep reservoir has been used, which is equivalent to ¼ of its storage.

It is expected that the rains occur again during the spring and the system recovers, but until then, it is requested that people save water.

The Cantareira System is a complex willing at different levels and is connected by 48 kilometers of tunnels to better enjoy the gaps and the accumulation of water by gravity. Fuelled by four reservoirs fed by five different rivers, two of them have their sources in the state of Minas Gerais, and has a dam safety in case of system downtime.

Despite all this structure the Cantareira system collapsed, will he ever be able to recover?

For years we are warned that the world will suffer from lack of natural resources and the water will be one of the first to finish, what it takes longer to happen so that people will realize that we must change the way of thinking and acting so that we can live with quality?
