Nature Alert

I watched yesterday on the news about the blizzard in the eastern United States. Some people complained of NY because the government shut down the city and the snow was not so bad. Honestly, better to dwell in a place where the government cares and prevents the population. NY had financial losses, but did not record victims car accident that could have happened if the city had not s. In coast thtopped situation was serious but with strong winds and high tide. Millions of people were affected, at least it was not a tragedy.

Honestly, I live in a country where the government waits until the last second to act, denies everything that happens and that's not good. International NGOs claim that deforestation in the Amazon has grown (reached 400% in some periods), but the federal government says that deforestation fell. The Minister of the Environment has not signed the pact for reducing deforestation at a UN conference because, she said, did not know the document's content and had not been informed that it would be discussed at the conference. The country's main water reservoirs are operating with the so-called dead volume, hydroelectric plants responsible for supplying 70% of the Brazilian energy are just over 10% of its capacity, but the Brazilian government says there will be only risk rationing energy if levels reach 10%.

02/15/2007 In a report* was published: In 20 years lack water to 60% of the world, says UN. I ask: What in the world did about it? Eight years later, what countries have done to preserve this precious asset?

As for Brazil, let's see ...

Unfinished and overpriced works of hydroelectric plants, some even left the drawing board.

Lack of investment in power transmission lines (60% of the works are delayed).

Low investment in clean energy sources (wind and solar), despite the enormous capacity that the country has to generate energy from these sources.

The Brazilian government is working with the remediation, with the theory of "save yourself who can", meanwhile Brazilian beauties are fading, there in 2007 Brazil was seen as a strategic point for its woods and waters. Well, we are in 2015 and our rivers are drying up, our forests being cut down or burned, the population of large and important Brazilian's cities are feeling what is running out of water.

What is this? The alert. Even if the storm is not as strong, listening to the meteorologists, respect of nature warnings and thank to the end of it you have those you love close by and you can enjoy the natural resources that remain.
